An overview of all costs for different departure and return dates immediately gives you information about which travel dates you should avoid due to high flight costs. You also get an indication of which travel dates have the lowest costs, especially if some low cost air companies only fly on some week days.

 

The example below was for 2012 and the search was done for flights from Gothenburg. Book your flights as early as possible to get the lowest prices. You should book your flights before Christmas if you want the absolute best flight prices for the next year.

In South Beach, an excellent option is the South Beach Local Circulator. A looping shuttle bus.

Transfer between airport and hostel

There is a new express bus from the airport to Miami Beach. Walk to the Lower Level Ramp and take the 150 Airport Flyer Bus. http://www.co.miami-dade.fl.us/transit/library/routes/150.pdf

Take bus #150 and exit the bus at 9th Street and Washington Ave. and we are right cross the street at 236 9th Street.

Take the S Aventura Mall Bus and arrive at 8th and Alton Rd.

Dangers & Annoyances

Miami has about double the national murder rate and three times the national aggravated assault rate. Although criminals don't tend to target strangers. Try not to walk around alone at night in Overtown, Liberty City and Little Haiti. In Downtown Miami, use particular caution near Overtown, the Greyhound station and around causeways, bridges and overpasses where homeless people and some refugees have set up shantytowns. The main danger in Miami Beach is drunk tourists.
