The exact distance between Madurai(Tamil Nadu) to Munnar(Kerala) is about 165 Kms. Local Buses from Madurai are available at Aryapalla Bus Stand and the bus takes around 2 hours to reach Theni charging a fare of Rs. 24/- each passanger. Thereafter another bus takes more than four hours to reach Munnar.

Madurai to Theni - as you wish. By bus, it takes maximum 2 hours. Always take

Dont worry mate there are buses from Madurai and frequent buses from Theni to Munnar. In my humble opinion its better to travel
to Theni by bus from Madurai (3 hrs) and catch a bus to Munnar. Route is MADURAI-THENI-BODI-MUNNAR.
If you catch a bus at Madurai it will travel by same route I guess.
